Who we are
Server StorageIO and UnlimitedIO LLC (StorageIO is a trademark of UnlimitedIO LLC) is a technology advisory and consulting firm providing services to technology vendors, value added resellers (VARs), IT organizations, investors, press, media, in person and online event organizers, reporters as well as bloggers among others.
The name Server StorageIO and UnlimitedIO reflects the focus of experience and coverage. That experience comes from work as an IT customer, vendor, VAR, advisor, analyst, author and consultant involved with services, servers, storage, I/O networking, hardware and software development across more than four decades.
What we do and who we do it for
StorageIO exists to help vendors get their product information and story to applicable customers and partners, while helping IT customers identify their needs and match those to applicable solutions. The experience of an IT customer, vendor, author and storage industry analyst is used to help meet specific business needs or objectives on a confidential basis.
The work covers services, servers, storage, I/O networking, cloud, virtualization, data protection, business continuity, disaster recovery and the management practices that hold them together.
Data infrastructure focus
With a common or short name of StorageIO, people often ask when the focus moved beyond storage. The simple answer is that the expertise involved servers, operating systems, business applications, software development, networking, hardware, management, performance engineering, capacity planning, data protection, business continuity and disaster recovery long before the StorageIO name existed.
The focus is on topics, techniques and best practices that enable efficient, effective, scalable, flexible and resilient IT data infrastructures. Those infrastructures support information services delivery, from legacy core systems to cloud and the edge, including the Internet of Things (IoT).
Best practices, techniques and technologies covered by StorageIO converge around server, virtualization, cloud and I/O data storage networking, along with IT Service Management (ITSM), Infrastructure Resource Management (IRM), Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) and data protection, including archive, backup, restore, business continuity, disaster recovery and security.

About this center
Object Storage Center is a small, focused archive. It gathers briefings, primers, newsletters and book reviews that were published between 2011 and 2017, preserves their original dates and language, and adds a clearer index around them. The subject is the place where object storage, cloud services, data protection and the rest of the data infrastructure meet.
The center does not sell storage and does not rank vendors. It is a reading room for people who need to understand how the pieces work before they choose a platform.
